Leanne Binder’s voice was built twice. The first time in the halls of a conservatory, the second in the wreckage left behind. Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, she entered a college-level opera program at just twelve, before stepping away from classical training to forge her own sound through soul, blues, and rock.
Her journey has taken her from smoky Midwestern bars to festival stages across the U.S. and Europe, including The Cavern Club in Liverpool, the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, where she’s shared stages with Joe Bonamassa, Tommy Castro, Shemekia Copeland, and The Texas Headhunters.
After years of detours, reinvention, and rebuilding, Binder has come into her strongest form yet. Her latest EP, I Got Something to Say, produced by Grammy winner Lee J. Turner, marks both a return to roots and a declaration of self — where Rust Belt blues meets rock and soul.
